The event will celebrate the conception and initial development of the AEngD, which now includes 22 UK university-based research centres offering the EngD qualification.
In partnership with industry sponsors, EngD programmes offer research opportunities to graduates from across the engineering spectrum, enabling them to develop ground-breaking products and services while working for their sponsor organisations.
Over 300 organisations - many of them well-known multinational corporations - sponsor EngD research engineers.
The 1 November event will include presentations highlighting some of the achievements of EngD research, and will be an opportunity for the 22 industrial doctorate centres to promote themselves to a wide range of engineering organisations and opinion-leaders.
