AEngD 2013 Conference to be held at the Building Centre, London

(17 October 2013) - Following the successful AEngD launch conference held in London in November 2012, we will be holding an AEngD half-day conference at the Building Centre in London WC1 on Tuesday 26 November 2013. This event will include presentations for the 2013 Engineering Research Writer of the Year competition.

The event will include: a meeting for directors and managers of industrial doctorate centres (IDCs – AEngD members), a parallel meeting for current research engineers, a short combined conference, and presentations by the shortlisted candidates for the 2013 Engineering Research Writer of the Year Awards. After the awards, there will be an evening drinks reception which will include presentations to the winners of the Awards.

Space-permitting, we also plan a poster display. This will be an opportunity for Centres and research engineers to present the best research posters from their centres' annual conferences (it might be sensible for centres to nominate REs to attend, particularly if they will be presenting a poster).

We suggest two representatives from each member IDC (ideally, centre director and manager) for the IDCs meeting, and two REs per centre for the research meeting. Additional spaces are available for others to attend the conference/reception only.
